Think you’ve seen it all when it comes to fans? You will be surprised by this new generation model which really improves comfort. The editors put it to the test under 35°C.
Forget the traditional tower fans or the bladeless models of recent years, the Shark brand has imagined a device capable of meeting almost all needs. Better yet, it is particularly designed to sleep better in heat. The editorial team tested this innovation and explains why it changes everything, especially in the middle of a heatwave.
Every year, it’s the same thing: heat waves make indoors less bearable and sleeping becomes complicated. While some end up spending a tidy sum to equip themselves with air conditioning, many homes rely on the fan, a perfect ally for a few weeks of stifling heat during the year. You still have to find the right model! Between those that are not powerful enough, those that are too noisy and those that cannot cool all members of the family, you can quickly become disappointed. It is for this reason that Shark has completely revised and corrected the shape of the traditional fan: as a result, the Turboblade offers almost unlimited customization to improve comfort.
Concretely, the brand has revised the concept of column fans by adopting a modular design which can be moved horizontally according to needs. The air outlets are also adjustable so that you can perfectly direct the air flow, independently to the right and left. The whole thing oscillates and can even ventilate a surface at 180°. Does that seem technical to you? So imagine: there are two of you on a sofa, you turn the fan horizontally to have greater air coverage. Do you prefer to look only on the legs and your partner towards the face? No problem, we adjust on each side and everyone is happy.
But the best part is that the horizontal position is particularly comfortable for sleeping with a slight breeze while the heatwave is in full swing. And its telescopic foot allows it to adapt perfectly to all beds. Again, no more fighting for both occupants of the bed to smell the air and no more waiting for the oscillation to make a turn to smell the freshness. Everyone will be able to direct the flow on their side exactly as they wish. The air is fresh and pleasant, like a natural breeze. And as that’s not all, in setting 1, the fan only produces 40 dB, the equivalent of a refrigerator: nothing to disturb sleep.

In terms of design, if the device is a little imposing, the possibility of switching it to column mode makes it very easy to integrate into a room. The finishes are also neat so that it does not clash too much with the decor: choose from white or anthracite, with copper-plated brass details.
Is he all right then? Almost. It should however be noted that the device can be a little noisy when you increase the ventilation power. With its imposing size, moving it from one room to another is not as simple as a traditional model. Finally, its price displayed at 279.99 euros remains high, but nevertheless comparable to that of other fans at this level. Also keep in mind that it might take you a little while to get used to how it works. The possibilities are so numerous that it takes some getting used to finding your preferences.
