Back in the 20th season of “Incroyable Talent”, on M6, singer Hélène Ségara told us about the show, her career and her projects. Interview.

The return of France has Incredible Talent will take place on October 14, on M6. The four emblematic jurors – Éric Antoine, Sugar Sammy, Marianne James and Hélène Ségara – will be reunited again and, on this occasion, the singer of the hit There are too many people who love you shared his impressions of this new season with us. But she also multiplied the confidences.

Ten years since you were a juror in “Incroyable Talent”, do you feel tired?

So really no. I think today, if someone asked me to sign for ten more seasons, I would say: ‘I’m signing.’ But on the other hand, the only reservation I would have is to say to myself: ‘I hope the show doesn’t change.’ It has a DNA that remains caring, familial, and at the same time sharp because I find that artists are challenging themselves more and more to offer us new things. And I find that the level rises each time.

How do you approach your role on the show?

In France Has Incredible Talent, I refuse to know anything! I don’t want to see anything, I don’t want to know anything before. I want to arrive completely neutral to have my spontaneity. I don’t prepare anything, nothing. In this season, there are surprises that I was completely unaware of. There is a prank that they did with Éric Antoine (who also gave us an interview, editor’s note), I dove into it…

Afterwards, I was angry with Eric! I said to him: ‘You make me look like an idiot anyway.’ But too bad, that’s what keeps, I think, a true and authentic side to this show.

Your comrade Eric Antoine has become a presenter. Would you like to host a program, perhaps musical?

Not necessarily music. Afterwards, of course if there was a musical touch, I would like it. But most of all, I would like to have a show where I can help people stay positive and regain their self-confidence. And above all, to repeat to them that positive values and values of kindness are not yet to be thrown in the trash…

In a completely different category, my passion is cooking (she also published the book My recipes for 100% pleasure and well-being in 2018, editor’s note). Apart from music, I am passionate about cooking because I believe that a table with a good meal brings everyone together. I have always cooked for my children. Cooking has always been my way of loving. Before Covid, I was contacted, I was offered to do a cooking show and I had lots of ideas because I learned to make world cuisine. I can make wok, like an oriental dish or Italian cuisine. But unfortunately after Covid, the chain filed for bankruptcy so it was not done. But yes, I could very well see myself hosting a show.

How do you view the world of music today?

I find it extremely hard today. We have a lot of platforms to make ourselves known and at the same time, we are drowned in the crowd… Sometimes, there are people who emerge who have not studied music and yet it is innate in them. They have something in them and we shouldn’t have missed it.

But today, what pains me a little… Is that sometimes, the opportunists get more things than the humble and talented. Me, I want to tell the humble and the talented that I am in this category and that ultimately, maybe that’s why I’m still here 30 years later because I remained sincere and I didn’t sell my soul to the devil, quite simply.

Do you have any favorites in the new generation?

I am preparing for my 30-year career. I’m preparing an album and last year, I was contacted by a rapper called Dinos who I didn’t know at all. It was a real crush because he is an extremely sunny, extremely kind boy. I have this fault of mixing the two, that is to say that I can be in artistic admiration for someone and if behind the scenes, I see something that is not beautiful, it lowers my appreciation of the artist a little. I’m going to have a harder time listening to his music afterwards. This happened to me with an artist I admired and it’s extremely complicated.

On the other hand, conversely, if I have an artist that I have not yet discovered 1000% and that, in fact, I find that the person is fantastic, then I will focus on everything he does and try to understand his approach, including if it is rap.
