It is not only one of the best in the world, but also one of the craziest: a spectacular wave pool, a gigantic slide that plunges among sharks, a unique roller coaster… This European water park has something to impress visitors.

Imagine a free fall from 28 meters high which ends in a transparent tunnel, in the middle of a pool populated by real sharks, record waves of 3 meters on which you can even surf, giant coasters powered by the very latest technology… This scenario worthy of an adventure film is not to be found on the other side of the planet, but in the heart of the largest water park in Europe.

Crowned “best water park on the planet” at the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards for ten consecutive years, until 2024, this immense leisure complex extends over no less than 18.5 hectares, or 185,000 m2 slides, swimming pools and tropical gardens. In total, the park has around twenty attractions, intended for all types of visitors: those who come for the adrenaline, those who come with family, and those who come more to relax. To discover this paradise, there is no need to fly to Dubai or Miami. Real enthusiasts may already recognize it: it is Siam Park, located in the town of Costa Adeje in Tenerife, the largest island in the Spanish Canary archipelago.

Just a 4-hour flight from Paris, it benefits from a subtropical climate, which allows it to remain open every day of the year, even in the middle of winter. Its name comes from the kingdom of Siam, the ancient name of Thailand, around which the entire theme of the park revolves. Temples, elephant statues, lush vegetation, typical huts… It is also the largest collection of Thai buildings outside the Asian continent.

As for attractions, thrill-seekers won’t be able to miss “Tower of Power”, the most impressive slide and the real star of Siam Park: with a near-vertical fall of 28 meters (the equivalent of a 9-step building!), you dive at nearly 80 km/h to finish your race in a transparent tube which passes through a giant aquarium filled with sharks and rays. Still for the taste of adrenaline, there is also the “Saifa” coaster, the newest in the park. A double-track, “face-to-face” roller coaster with 360° turns, a height of 82 meters and a length of 306 meters. The whole “powered by RocketBLAST technology, the latest on the market.” Another must-see is “The Wave Palace”, an XXL wave pool bordered by a white sand beach. Its specificity? There are the highest artificial waves in the world, up to 3 meters high. You can even book private surfing sessions there.

In addition to its attractions for visitors, Siam Park is also recognized for its ecological model: the park has its own renewable energy thanks to numerous solar panels, and uses seawater desalination technology on site. Once used for the slides, the water is then recycled to water the tropical vegetation in the park. By combining spectacular adrenaline, tropical relaxation and ecological awareness, this giant of the Canary Islands ticks all the boxes for the ideal getaway. Price-wise, it will cost 44 euros per adult (from 12 years old), and 32 euros per child (between 3 and 11 years old), while babies under 2 years old are entitled to free entry.
