Brigitte Bardot lived the last years of her life between her home in La Garrigue and the legendary Madrague, in Saint-Tropez.

Before dying on December 28, 2025, at the age of 91, Brigitte Bardot spent part of her time at La Garrigue, her second house in Saint-Tropez where there is a small, discreet chapel little known to the general public. What did she look like? A photo was revealed by a relative of the late actress.

Brigitte Bardot and her private chapel: what does she look like? PHOTO

If La Madrague, her property in Saint-Tropez, remains the late star’s most famous address, it is not far from there, in the hills of La Garrigue, that Brigitte Bardot also spent time away from the paparazzi and curious onlookers. Nestled on approximately 10 hectares of greenery, this second property was a real refuge for her and especially for her numerous animals that she took in. “This one (the Garrigue, editor’s note), It’s a reflection of me now. La Madrague is a reflection of me when I was doing crazy things“, she declared to BFMTV, a few months before her death.

In the middle of this haven of peace, Brigitte Bardot had a small chapel that she named Notre-Dame de la Garrigue. Built in the 1980s, it is a modest building, surrounded by pine trees and with a tiny bell tower that tops its white facade as seen in a photo by his friend Max Guazzini.

“It was at the top of a goat’s path, in the middle of wild and unspoiled nature, with a magnificent view of the Big Blue, that I decided… to have this miniature chapel built”, she declared according to Nice-Morning about her chapel, which she had nicknamed her “bidet“. Around, numerous graves of his deceased animals surround the building.

Brigitte Bardot: this place where she found “strength and courage”

The interior of the chapel is just as humble as the exterior. There are wooden chairs, a small altar decorated with souvenirs, and objects recalling his life and his struggles, as well as photos of his missing animals, which were sometimes left there. “I wanted a Mexican inspired chapel“, she also specified. Her late best friend and hairdresser, Gérard Montel, had given her a small statue of the Virgin Mary, which still sits in the chapel.

This small construction was a personal sanctuary for the animal lover, far from the spotlight and the tumult of the crowds. “It’s a place that helped me continue my fight. I gained the strength and courage that I sometimes lacked. I relax there, I recharge my batteries and I calm down“, she also confided to Nice-Morning.
