Does his name mean anything to you? Frédéric Lerner enjoyed incredible success in the early 2000s before falling under the radar.

Propelled to the forefront thanks to the legendary producer Jean-Claude Camus, singer and musician Frédéric Lerner turned many heads in the early 2000s. But since then, what has become of him?

Frédéric Lerner, from crazy success to burnout: “It’s a terrible job.”

His first album, We will leavesold more than 100,000 copies, and the single from this opus was even the most played song on the radio in 2001. In the process, he created the theme song for a series adored by the French at that time: One guy, one girlworn by Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin (who will soon return to the air with a new cast). At the height of his fame, he even opened several times for Johnny Hallyday in 2004.

But, in 2005, everything collapsed for Frédéric Lerner. He falls out with his historic record company, Sony, sees his relationship fall apart and ends up burning out. Result: he disappears from the radar for two years. “I then realize that everyone is giving up on me. I am also in the middle of a romantic breakup, I feel like I am losing everything”he had even admitted on this subject to Paris Match. “It’s a terrible job. We burn you as quickly as we praise you.”

His third album, titled It makes or breaksis therefore expected around the corner in 2007. Thanks to the single Not theresuccess is once again there for the man who has often been presented as the lookalike of Keanu Reeves.

Frédéric Lerner and his private life: in a relationship with the sister-in-law of a well-known actor

A few years later, in 2014, after settling in Los Angeles, Frédéric Lerner returned with a fourth album, entitled Muzungu. More confidential, he did not experience the success of his previous opuses, despite a duet with Lionel Richie, We Only Have One World.

Now aged 53, Frédéric Lerner has completely deserted the French scene. In 2015, the press announced him in the casting of an American series, Sneaky Boya fiction for which he had shot a pilot earlier in the year. But the said series, whose filming should have started in 2016, never saw the light of day.

Very discreet about his private life, Frédéric Lerner does not seem to have children. “It didn’t really make me want to do it but I love children. I may not have found the right person yet, but in any case, it will happen one day!”he informed Audience in 2014.

In 2021, Spanish sites devoted an article to the singer who then appeared as a couple during the Gala Starlite with Bárbara Kimpel, the twin sister of Nicole Kimpel Banderas, the wife of Antonio Banderas! His partner said she met him through mutual friends and that they lived together.between Paris and Geneva“.

The following year, Frédéric Lerner declared to the site Larazon.es that he was writing a series and dreaming of “stream on Netflix or Amazon“. In June 2026, we could discreetly see him pose with his partner on the sidelines of a Lenny Kravitz concert in Spain.
