A cape-shaped top and an XXL pearl bag: the queen mixed unexpected pieces to create a chic and sharp look, in her image.
The King and Queen of the Netherlands were present, as every year, at the commemorations of the National Day of Remembrance at the celebration of the National Liberation. On May 5, Maxima shined in her original look, marked by extraordinary accessories.
It’s tradition: King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and the country’s Prime Minister attend the big concert closing these celebrations, in front of the Royal Theater Carré, in Amsterdam. From their stand on the quays of Amstel, the royal couple enjoyed the show in front of a crowd who were able to admire their elegant outfit. While her husband opted for a classic navy blue suit, Maxima dared to be original without losing class. The queen played with shapes by opting for two wide pieces signed Natan Coutureone of his favorite brands. So, she wore a cape-shaped top in a soft pink color and flowing pants in a camel shade. Hazelnut-colored leather pumps (the “Gianvito 105” model from Gianvito Rossi) perfectly elongated her silhouette.
It was especially on the accessories side that Maxima from the Netherlands took maximum risks. It was impossible to miss her XXL necklace made up of several rows of large pearls. It brought a lot of pep to her plain top. In addition, dangling earrings in the shape of round wooden pieces enhanced her necklace.
But the fashion item that caught our eye was her handbag. The 54-year-old Argentinian chose a creation from the brand Cult Gaiaalready adopted by Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Nicky Hilton. The Dutch queen fell for the “Eos” model which is an acrylic clutch decorated with pearls in a tortoiseshell pattern. Its price? 315 dollars, or 268 euros. An unusual accessory that had its effect!
