Miou-Miou’s theater career began when she was just 18 years old. And it was in 1968, the year of his meeting with his first accomplice, Coluche, that his life changed completely. And for this, all means were good: “At 16, I looked at the list of possible careers for women and signed up for a CAP in tapestry”.
“Officially, I am an upholsterer”also affirmed the 76-year-old actress. The one who founded the Café de la gare alongside Coluche, to whom she owes her nickname, had the privilege of seeing her first diploma very well displayed… “Coluche had hung my upholsterer’s medal on the toilet flush in the café!”she joked, still in the columns of West France.
Miou-Miou’s astonishing first job: “I had a very good boss”
A profession that the mother of Angèle Henry, whom she had with Patrick Dewaere, and of Jeanne Henry, whose father is Julien Clerc, had very little time to practice. And yet, she has very rather good memories of it. “I was learning tapestry. I had a very good boss”had in fact told Miou-Miou to the newspaper France Dimanche around ten years ago.
And to the one who lost her husband, the novelist Jean Teulé, in 2022 following a heart attack caused by food poisoning, to detail: “In the workshop, there was an older worker and another younger one”. But Miou-Miou did not wish to continue in this activity: “I saw in these three women my destiny and I did not want this future”.
