Puy du Fou offers a unique immersion in History through grandiose shows and historical reconstructions. “N°1 of theme parks”, it offers varied activities which captivate children and adults alike. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for your visit.

Summary

Far from traditional amusement parks, the Puy du Fou offers original creations that captivate young and old alike. Thanks to monumental settings, innovative special effects and a spectacular atmosphere, each visit turns into a memorable adventure for the whole family, allowing you to travel through time, from Antiquity to the 20th century. The park also has a “Night City” bringing together several thematic hotels, such as the Villa Gallo-Romaine or Le Grand Siècle, to extend the experience over several days.

What are the shows at Puy du Fou?

The great shows of Puy du Fou

At the heart of the experience are the major, unmissable shows that have made the park world famous. In the monumental Gallo-Roman Stadium, “The Sign of Triumph“takes you back to the era of gladiator fights and chariot races, ending with an impressive naval battle. A little further, “The Vikings“depicts the dazzling attack on a peaceful village by warriors from the North emerging from their longships. Lovers of poetry and nature will marvel at it”The Ball of the Ghost Birds“, a majestic aerial ballet where hundreds of birds of prey graze the public. The epic continues with “The Secret of the Spear“, which relates the heroic defense of a castle during the Hundred Years’ War, or with “Richelieu Musketeer“, a swashbuckling adventure punctuated by equestrian prowess and flamenco. Finally, “The Last Panache” will make you experience the tragic fate of a French naval officer during the American War of Independence, in a 360-degree rotating theater.

Immersive shows

To experience History from the inside, the park also offers a series of immersive wandering shows. “The Mystery of La Pérouse” takes you into the bowels of a ship for a maritime expedition larger than life, while “The First Kingdom” retraces the journey of Clovis through striking settings. The emotion is at its peak in “Les Amoureux de Verdun”, which immerses you in the daily life of the poilus in the trenches, on Christmas Eve 1916. You can also unlock the secrets of the park in “La Renaissance du Château”. The youngest are not forgotten with spaces dedicated to themsuch as “The Imaginary World of La Fontaine”, a huge garden where actors and animals bring famous fables to life, or even “The Children’s Den”.

Night shows

At nightfall, the park is adorned with a thousand lights to offer grandiose night shows. “Les Noces de Feu” offers a magical phantasmagoria on the lake, mixing classical music, water games, flames and electroluminescent costumes to tell the passionate love story between the Muse and the Pianist. Finally, the crowning glory of the visit remains “La Cinéscénie”, the largest nocturnal fresco in the world. Presented on a giant stage of several hectares, this blockbuster takes spectators from the Middle Ages to the Second World War thanks to thousands of volunteer actors, an impressive cavalry and cutting-edge technologies in the service of emotion.

What are the hotels in Puy du Fou?

The Gallo-Roman Villa

The first hotel in the Cité Nocturne du Puy du Fou, the Villa Gallo-Romaine, was created in 2007. This hotel takes its visitors back to the era of Ancient Rome. It has 100 completely redecorated family rooms, with an interior courtyard of 3,300m².

The Great Century

The 4-star hotel Le Grand Siècle allows you to sleep in the Roi Soleil apartments. Finally, the Legendary Dinners immerse visitors in an exceptional evening, behind the scenes of the park, to discover the talents, and the different professions and know-how that bring the park to life. Finally, each dinner has a particular theme, like that of the stables.
