Seen everywhere in the 2010s, this color is back stronger than ever today… always with a good dose of style.
Fashion shows us all the colors. While trendy shades come and go on the runways, some of them don’t stand up to the test of the streets. Difficult to wear according to some, this shimmering shade has nevertheless conquered the big houses as well as fashion enthusiasts in everyday life. Throughout the year 2026, through its successive parades, Chanel thus highlighted it on several silhouettes.
In her Métiers d’Art show, this shade, both soft and flashy, appeared on at least 5 looks, from the top to the shoes. The spring-summer Haute Couture collection was no exception: a vaporous outfit made said color shine in the spectacular interiors of the Grand Palais. Fresh, soft, feminine and playful, it goes wonderfully with other pastel shades. This is mint green, also called “Mint green” in English.
However, mint green today comes with a prefix and is called “Millennial Mint Green” – “Millenial” referring to generation Y born between 1980 and mid-90s. Why such a nod? In the 2010s, the decade when this generation was in their twenties, mint green covered all clothes and was ingrained in all fashion departments. Young people of the time wore it on their slim pants, their tops, and other pieces of their wardrobe. Yet another confirmation of the trend “2026 is the new 2016.”
On the fashion show side, in addition to the brand founded on rue Cambon, luxurious brands like Roberto Cavalli or even Giorgio Armani bring it up to date. The Italian house revisits it on the majority of its silhouettes with a sophisticated and slightly softer touch inspired by jade stone, on evening outfits that are sometimes satiny, sometimes glittery. King of animal print, Roberto Cavalli the sublime in a matching dress and thigh-high boots set worn by artist Dua Lipa at the beginning of April.
Accessible ready-to-wear brands also offer pieces featuring this color at low prices. The one that’s been making the buzz lately? The designer set Bershka.
How to wear it when you’re not comfortable with flashy colors? The safest option is to combine it with more neutral shades, such as beige, white or black. A mint green blouse, accompanied by white jeans and matching shoes will be essential. Color lovers in spring moods can wear it with other pastel shades such as powder pink or buttery yellow. Since color blocking is in fashion, a mint green jacket combined with a baby pink dress will do the trick, for example.
Finally, be careful, in its so-called neutral variation, this color does not necessarily suit all skin tones. In terms of colorimetry, it will suit women in the “bright winter”, “light summer”, “deep winter” or even “muted autumn” seasons. Obviously, in fashion, nothing is forbidden: this serves as friendly advice and not a strict rule!
