When this young couple in their thirties bought it, they liked the apartment, but the kitchen was closed, whereas they wanted an open one integrated into a large room including living room and dining room. The property is then made up of three bedrooms. They only need two, but big enough. Finally, the toilet cabinet is a sanibroyeur, with the disadvantages that we know. The couple wanted a real toilet connected to the building’s pipes. It is for all these reasons that they called on Little Worker. “For the decoration, the client had prepared a great Pinterest board with lots of inspiration. From the start, she was super motivated. It’s cool to work with someone who wants to”told us Juliette Georget, architect and design project manager.
Rethink the plan by recycling a few parts
To meet customer specifications, Juliette Georget reviewed the distribution of parts. The partition which separated a bedroom from the living room was knocked down to create a large living space. The kitchen was installed there. To enlarge one of the bedrooms, which was barely 5 m², the architect recovered the space of the bathroom as well as the corridor. In the end, the room had more than doubled to a comfortable 11.64 m². The bathroom was installed in the old closed kitchen. “We broke down the partitions, but we kept all the door units with their frames in order to put them back in the new layout. For example for bedroom 1, which is now integrated into the living room, we kept it to reinstall it at the entrance to another room.” This avoids making a new one. The parquet floor was also changed, because it did not please the clients at all, who wanted a herringbone installation. “The apartment was in good condition, but quite dated”we are confirmed. Finally, two windows were changed as well as the radiators, in order to reduce the couple’s energy costs. No detail has been left aside for this beautiful renovated apartment which combines aesthetics and functionality.
