There chaplet of Divine Mercy it was dictated by Jesus to Saint Faustina Kowalska in Vilnius on 13-14 September 1935 as a prayer to appease the wrath of God (Diary, pp. 327-329). Whoever recites this chaplet offers to God the Father «the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity” of Jesus Christ to implore mercy for one’s own sins, those of one’s neighbor and of the whole world, but at the same time, uniting oneself with the offering of Jesus, one turns to that love that the heavenly Father gives to his Son, and in Him to all men.
With this prayer, we read on the official website of the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Rome (the Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia, ed) «mercy is also asked for us and for the whole world and therefore an act of mercy is performed. With total trust in God and adherence to his will, the faithful can expect the fulfillment of Christ’s promises, in particular those concerning the hour of death: the grace of conversion and a peaceful death. Not only will the people who recite this chaplet get them, but also the dying person next to whom it will be recited.”

Phrases taken from the Diary of Saint Faustina Kowalska
«When this chaplet is recited near a dying person – said Jesus – the wrath of God is appeased and inscrutable Mercy envelops the soul»
(Diary, p. 487)
The general promise says: «For the recitation of this chaplet I like to grant everything they ask of me»
(Diary, p. 806)

To recite the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, a simple rosary can be used. This sequence is followed:
1. Sign of the Cross:
In the name of the Father, of the son and of the Holy Spirit
2. Our Father:
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts
as we also forgive our debtors,
and do not abandon ourselves to temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen
3. Hail Mary
Hail, O Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with you.
You are blessed among women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
4. Creed (Apostles’ Creed)
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
was born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
he was crucified,
he died and was buried; descended into hell;
on the third day he rose from the dead;
ascended to heaven,
sits at the right hand of God the Father almighty:
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the remission of sins,
the resurrection of the flesh,
eternal life.
Amen.
5. On each major bead of the Rosary, when the Our Father is normally said, say:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, the soul and the Divinity
of Your beloved Son and our Lord Jesus Christ, in expiation
of our sins and those of the whole world.

God, Merciful Father, who revealed Your love in the Son
Yours Jesus Christ, and you have poured him out on us in the Holy Spirit
Consoler, we entrust to you today the destinies of the world and of every man.
Bend over us sinners, heal our weakness, defeat every
evil, let all the inhabitants of the earth experience Yours
Mercy, so that in You, the One and Triune God, they always find the source
