Charlotte de Turckheim is today married to the man of her life, but the marriage proposal was not easy. The actress even admits to having “forced the hand” of her partner…
Did Charlotte de Turckheim “forced the hand” of her husband to get married? The main interested party is almost convinced that this was the case! And for good reason, the marriage proposal did not go as planned, as the actress recounted on the set of Grosses Têtes…
Charlotte de Turckheim, proposed to her: “I forced her hand a little”
It was during a romantic dinner with her partner Zaman Hachemi, an entrepreneur of Afghan origin, that the actress thought she was being proposed to. “It was a misunderstanding. I absolutely wanted him to marry me. One day, he invited me to dinner, and there was a large platter of seafood. He said to me ‘is what you want…’, and I burst into tears, and I told him: ‘yes I agree to be your wife‘”, she said while specifying that she had not let him finish asking his question. “Maybe in reality he wanted to say to me: ‘Will you pass me the mayonnaise?‘”, she blurted, provoking hilarity from the personalities on set.
What reinforces Charlotte de Turckheim’s doubt, even today, is that during this dinner, Zamam Hachemi had not prepared a ring. “So I think I forced his hand a little bit.“, she supposed. It was only afterwards, at breakfast at the hotel, that the actress was offered her famous ring.
Charlotte de Turckheim (again) embarrassed her husband: “It would be nice if…”
“What was so cute was that he put the ring in a flute of champagne“, remembered the mother of Julia, Clara and Johanna, born from her former love with Jean-Marc Piaton. To reveal this surprise to her, Zaman Hachemi wanted to order a bottle of champagne: “But it was 9am. I said: ‘No, but that’s not okay, we’re not going to drink at 9am!‘”.
And the fiasco didn’t stop there because when Charlotte de Turckheim finally agreed to order this famous bottle, she drank her flute of champagne without seeing the ring! “At one point he said to me ‘it would be good if you looked at the bottom of the glass‘”. This is how this long and confusing marriage proposal ended… Despite everything, the lovebirds, married since 2012, live a beautiful love story and run a guest house in Eygalières, in Provence.
