It’s a story that has left its mark on the hotel industry in France. A French businessman spent no less than 67 years of his life in a Parisian palace. An extraordinary life, in luxury and voluptuousness, which cost him a lot of money!
The story began as a simple night at a hotel for Jean Le Bon, a French businessman traveling in Paris. And yet, there is nothing ordinary about her. In fact, the latter pushed the door of Grand Hotel – an establishment in the 9th arrondissement of the capital opened in 1862 and today became theIntercontinental -, in 1957… And never left, reports the media Imjustbait.
Caught up in a calm life, without any ties and without unforeseen expenses, Jean Le Bon ended up getting used to not worrying about the upkeep of his suite. And he gradually became accustomed to the many luxury services within reach of room service. Above all, he was guaranteed security throughout his life by the hotel staff. He finally offered himself a life far from the worries of everyday life for no less than 67 years! A record.
Over the years, the business leader was known to everyone, and this Parisian address became his full-time home. For many of the employees of the famous house, who paraded before his eyes, the entrepreneur was even part of the walls! Finally, Jean Le Bon left the luxury hotel in 2024, becoming the person to have stayed in the same hotel the longest in the history of humanity.
But this luxury life comes at a price. He would have paid a total bill estimated at 2.1 million euros at the hotel. Not to mention the tips he would have left throughout his stay… Which could amount to a little more than 31,000 euros spent each year. An astronomical sum? Not so much if we compare with the prices charged today in the capital’s large hotels which sometimes ask, for palaces, thousands of euros per night for a room.
However, the Frenchman is not the only one to have made this very particular choice. Jean and David Davidson, an English couple from Sheffield, certainly had an apartment in their hometown, but for example always preferred to stay in different hotels located in the counties of Nottinghamshire and Newark-on-Trent.
