The Danish queen was unanimous with her original pants.
On March 19, Mary of Denmark made a very symbolic official trip to Australia, her native land. To elegantly end this several-day visit, she revealed an extremely chic look, subtly twisted by a garment with an original design.
From March 14 to 19, the King and Queen of Denmark toured Australia. On the final day of this journey, the royal couple was warmly received in Tasmania, an isolated island state in the south of the country which is none other than Mary’s home region. To attend a reception given in their honor by the local governor, Frederik X and Mary opted for coordinated sets, in black and white. The Danish queen wore a superb white shirt (the “Larissa” model from the Clea label), made in a luxurious blend of silk and lustrous cotton. We particularly appreciated the double-breasted high neckline, the voluminous sleeves and the delicate embroidery of this piece. To perfect this silhouette, the mother of four set her sights on pumps by Gianvito Rossi, in black leather enhanced with a contrasting white toe.
However, the real centerpiece of the 54-year-old sovereign’s outfit was undoubtedly her pants. Proud of her roots, she judiciously chose a creation from the Australian brand Carla Zampatti, which had a unique cut. The legs had soft folds on each side, giving the poetic illusion of petals flying to the rhythm of her steps.
Halfway between harem pants and classic suit pants, this resolutely modern garment – which had already been seen on Oprah in December 2025 – revealed all the stylistic audacity of the queen, who continues to create flawless looks.
By honoring the creators of her native country, Mary of Denmark proves that she has perfectly mastered the art of sartorial diplomacy, making her one of the most stylish crowned heads of her generation.
