On the occasion of November 20thInternational Day of Children’s Rights, in memory of the day on which the UN Convention was ratified in 1989, then over time signed by almost all the countries of the world, The social enterprise With children, born in 2016 to implement the programs of Fund to combat child educational povertyorganizes a three-day event, from 18 to 20 November: Italy grows with children.
A rich program of in-depth meetings that will address issues relating to the fight against child educational poverty, with a particular focus on the hardship of adolescents and on how to ensure that they themselves are the protagonists. In fact, on November 20th, the data will be released for the first time of the poll survey With Children – Demopolis, the result of interviews with adolescents.
The events will take place in various locations in Rome, including the conference space adjacent to the Gregorian University and the Con i Bambini and Acri locations in via del Corso 267. The program includes meetings and seminars, the screening of the documentary film They are not emergencies produced by Con i Bambini. The latter, directed by Arianna Massimi, will explore the experiences of boys and girls aged between 17 and 25, tackling sensitive issues such as anxiety, depression and bullying, in an attempt to give a voice to those who usually remain unheard. Appointment on Monday 18 November, followed by a series of meetings on the topics of impact assessment, information and the fight against educational poverty. The interaction between the public and private sectors will be one of the central themes, to reflect on the synergies necessary to address educational poverty in Italy.
On Tuesday 19 November, the focus will shift to the school as a fundamental educational agency, highlighting the importance of integrating education and social support. The experts will also discuss how to build an effective dialogue between adults and adolescents, in an era in which the risk of isolation and addictions is increasingly present.
In the endon Wednesday 20 November, the final event will be held at the Auditorium of the National Central Library in Castro Pretorio, Rome. This meeting will represent a crucial stage for the “Non Sono Emergenza” campaign and will focus on the interaction and protagonism of young people, to promote information that is more aware and attentive to the needs of the new generations.

Monday 18 November
From 10.00 to 11.00: pscreening I’m not an emergency (Documentary, Italy, 40′) at the Cinema Farnese, Field of flowers 56.
From 10.30 am to 1.00 pm “Evaluating the impact of educational sites” at the Con i Bambini headquarters, via del Corso 267. Con i Bambini, upon input from the Fund’s strategic steering committee, immediately developed an evaluation strategy impact, providing for its integration into all funded projects. This choice, combined with the very high number of projects supported (over 800, in every part of Italy), represents an absolute novelty in social planning.
From 10.30am to 1.30pm “Educational poverty and disadvantage of adolescents, the role of information” at Roma Eventi, Gregoriana University Piazza della Pilotta. At the center of the meeting there will be a careful and balanced examination of the phenomenon of educational poverty in Italy, with particular attention to the theme of youth hardship. The meeting is organized in collaboration with the Order of Journalists of Lazio e 5 ethical training credits will be recognized for the journalists who participate.
From 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm “Public-private social: a necessary alliance” at the Acri headquarters in via del Corso, 267. The topic will be addressed through three duo talks lasting 30 minutes each: “Participation of young people, what they can do public and private together?” , the second talk will have as its theme “Co-projection between public and private social sectors: what facilitates and what binds in the socio-educational field”, the third talk “The right to grow, which resources to activate in public administrations for a community that educates”. : “Future prospects for strengthening the public-private-social alliance in terms of policy”.
From 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm “Listening to adolescents. The role of adults” at Roma Eventi, Gregoriana University Piazza della Pilotta. This event will be moderated by the journalist of Christian family and children’s writer Fulvia Degl’Innocenti, and will feature Alessandro Albizzate, child and adolescent neuropsychiatrist, as speakers; Stefano Benzoni, child neuropsychiatrist and psychotherapist; Emily Mignanelli, educator and writer; Fabrizio Silei, children’s writer.

Tuesday 19 November
From 10.00 to 13.00 “World café: the «communities of practices» of Central Italy” at Roma Eventi, Gregoriana University Piazza della Pilotta. The meeting represents the comparison relating to Central Italy, in analogy with what has already been done for the North West, the South and the North East, among the hundreds of projects supported by the Fund to combat child educational poverty to create synergies and bring out models and good practices that can also be reproduced in public policies.
From 5.00pm to 7.30pm “School, educate, not just instruct” at Roma Eventi, Gregoriana University Piazza della Pilotta. The meeting is promoted in collaboration with Focus Scuola.
Wednesday 20 November
From 9.30am to 12.30pmInternational Day of the Rights of Children and Adolescents”. Final event “I am not an emergency” at the auditorium of the Central National Library (Viale Castro Pretorio, 105).
