Whether closed, extendable or custom-made, the corner dressing room is the ultimate ally for transforming every lost centimeter into smart storage. Do you have a corner of your room to exploit? Don’t waste any more space: discover our tips for choosing the ideal model and boosting your storage volume without cluttering up your room.
It’s agreed: your future corner dressing room must make every square millimeter profitable! Good news, the L configuration is a real space champion. Forget inaccessible areas: with the right tips, the corner becomes the strategic heart of your storage to leave no room for space.
Before choosing the corner dressing room that best suits your needs, ask yourself the right questions. Several solutions are available to you:
The corner box
Easily accessible with its full face, it will be ideal for storing things that you use very regularly, by installing one or two wardrobe bars for example, which will exploit the full depth of the angle. For maximum optimization, opt for a rounded wardrobe bar which will follow the angle: you will thus use even the inaccessible part of this corner. While it saves you storage space, this corner box itself takes up more space and can only be closed using hinged doorswhich also requires a little more space.
The 90° furniture
Fusion between two pieces of furniture, it will allow you to place clothes that you rarely use in its corner. We will more readily develop tablets in this type of configuration, on which we can put sweaters that we rarely wear, for example. It is also the perfect piece of furniture for sliding doors.
Corner dressing kits
In the same way that there are straight dressing kits, you will find corner models. Part of the wardrobe rotates to create a 90° angle and can be installed in the location of your choice. Other solutions to personalize exist and you can easily put together your corner dressing room kit using configurators like that of IKEA.
Everything now depends on the space you have but also on your budget. The higher this is, the more you will be able to add storage modules such as boxes or drawersor even doors to close it, especially if it is in your room. Lighting is highly recommended for a corner dressing room: you will thus be able to gain visibility even in the most difficult to access corners and a light strip in LED will bring a beautiful finish to your furniture.
THE hinged doors are possible to close a corner dressing room, but this solution will take up a significant amount of space. If you have opted for a corner dressing room due to lack of space, this solution may not suit your needs. You will then prefer the sliding doors. For simple, economical and modular access to your entire dressing room, you can also opt for a curtain.
To make a custom and economical dressing room, you can roll up your sleeves and do it yourself with planks. In this case, they will simply attach to the wall with solid brackets to create shelves that will hold your clothes. On the first wall, place the angle of the first board matching the angle of the wall then simply place the second board on the second wall aligning with the first. If you want to add a wardrobe space, you will then need to create wooden uprights which will accommodate the rods.
