They kick off today, Friday 6 March, i Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games. The inauguration is scheduled this evening at the Verona Arenawhere the opening ceremony will be held at 8 pm.
The show, entitled Life in Motionwill officially kick off the event that will accompany the public until March 15th. The ceremony, according to the program, should last about two and a half hours and end around 10.30 pm.
The event will be broadcast live on Rai 1 starting at 7.55pm and can also be followed in streaming on RaiPlay and on the Rainews.it website.

The inaugural show “Life in Motion”
The ancient Roman amphitheater, a UNESCO heritage site, for the occasion it will be transformed into the “Verona Olympic Arena”. The ceremony will combine music, art and technology to tell the values of the Paralympic movement, with particular attention to the themes of resilience and inclusion.
Among the guests expected on stage there will be Stewart Copelandhistoric drummer of the Police, the composer Dardustthe singer Mimi Carusowinner of X Factor 2025, ei MeduzaItalian electronic music trio. Also among the protagonists Miky BionicDJ performing using a myoelectric prosthesis.
The show will also see the participation of artists such as the sculptor Iagothe conceptual artist Emilio Isgrò And Marina Apolloniusexponent of the international optical-kinetic movement.
The Paralympic flame towards Verona
In recent days the Paralympic flame has crossed several Italian cities. One of the most evocative stops was in Venice, where the fire arrived in Piazza San Marco brought by the ski instructor Peter Alfrieder. The torch was then delivered to the basketball player Matilda Villawho lit the brazier in front of the Correr Museum.
After the last stages of the journey, the flame will reach Verona for the opening ceremony of the Games.
The Paralympics until March 15th
The Paralympic Winter Games will take place from 6 to 15 March between Milan, Cortina and Tesero. They will participate approximately 660 athletes from 50 countriesengaged in six disciplines: alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice hockey, snowboarding and wheelchair curling.
In total they will be assigned 137 medals of gold, as well as the same number of silver and bronze.

At the opening ceremony The presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella is expected. The Prime Minister is also among the expected guests Giorgia Melonithe President of the Chamber Lorenzo Fontanathe president of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana and the mayor of Verona Damiano Tommasi.
In the afternoon, at the Ristori Theatre, the Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli and the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi will welcome the delegations and institutional representatives of the participating countries.
