Two complementary health experts are deliver their advice to make the right choice right now.
Finding an effective mutual without exploding your budget is still possible … but not at random. “At equal rate, reimbursement levels may vary enormously”confirms Sophie Coisne, deputy editor -in -chief of 60 million consumers. Before choosing, you must first wonder about your needs: age, home composition, frequency of care, risk of hospitalization … “A good mutual is a contract adapted to its profile and its budget”summarizes Marianne Bye, responsible for the French mutuality. “The most sensitive positions to monitor are hospitalization, optics, dental and hearing, because they are those that generate the most dependent.” She also recommends taking an interest in so -called “responsible” contracts, which guarantee a reimbursement base on current care while encouraging compliance with the coordinated care path. “They are often more advantageous, especially fiscally.”
“Some mutuals also offer useful services such as teleconsultation, third -party payment or partner care networks, which limit costs to certain professionals”underlines Marianne Bye. “It’s a plus to take into account.” Online comparators? “Useful for a first tracking, but insufficient for a real choice”she insists. The right reflex: ask for several personalized quotes and read line by line which is really covered. With a trap to avoid: “100 % BR” contracts, in other words 100 % of the social security reimbursement base. “When you read 100 %, you think you are completely reimbursed, but it is wrong. On a consultation at 70 euros, only around thirty euros will be taken care of.” To avoid unpleasant surprises, it is better to target at least 125 %, or even 150 % BR, especially if you consult specialists.
In a recent study of 60 million consumers relating to a “senior” type profile, two contracts were clearly out: my 150 % neo health at AXA and Active Health Level 3 at Groupama. “For a rate equivalent to that of other offers, reimbursements are much better, especially on hearing or exceeding of fees.” And this observation applies to all profiles.
For Sophie Coisne, “Do not hesitate to challenge your mutual, especially in the event of a sharp increase “. “Some increases reach 20 %, while others are limited to 8 or 9 %.” And above all, do not overlook health coverage, even if you are in a long -term affection. “The security reimburses only what is linked to ALD”she recalls. “Impressed hospitalization can be very expensive, sometimes more than € 700 per day. Without complementary, the bill can quickly become insurmountable.” Even a basic formula is better than nothing. The important thing is to know what we pay … and what we are really reimbursed.
