Recruiters know exactly what they expect from their future employee. No, it is not his mastery of Excel, nor his level B2 in Spanish. According to a LinkedIn report just published, a skill is released this year and it may well be favorable to you.

In a context where candidates flock, it becomes more and more difficult to get out of the game. The recruitment tools are self -managed, the filters are multiplying, the algorithms sort. Result: stand out requires something other than impeccable route or a prestigious diploma. This “little extra” so sought after is not always seen at first glance, but it counts more than ever.

Linkedin interviewed thousands of professionals and observed the most consulted profiles on its platform. It turns out that the job market remains ultra-competitive, with a strong desire to move in assets. A majority is already considering a conversion or a change of position by the end of 2025. In parallel, more than six people in ten say they feel overwhelmed by changes in the world of work. Too news, too fast. And a question that comes back: what skills should you really strengthen? Well, know that it is not a question here of adding an additional line to your professional experiences.

According to Zara Easton, career expert at Linkedin, “The good news is that many professionals already have this skill without even realizing it.” She talks about qualities such as communication, adaptability or the sense of relational. Things that we develop as much in a freelance mission as in an association or in daily life.

Indeed, with the generalization of artificial intelligence (AI) in all sectors, certain tasks are self -mockery at record speed. But this movement does not make the human obsolete, quite the contrary. More and more employers are focusing on profiles capable of doing what machines cannot do: understanding others, federate, defuse a conflict, adjust to a situation. Called “Relationship Building“In the report, this skill is based on a simple base: create a climate of confidence, maintain fluid exchanges, and build lasting links in a professional environment. It is she who promotes collaboration, team spirit and projects.

Thus, in 2025, it is therefore not enough to be efficient. You also have to know how to interact, build, evolve with others. The profiles that combine technical skills and human qualities are the most popular. Having an knowledge of AI remains a big asset, but without the right human reflexes to put it at the service of a collective, that is no longer enough.
