With the return of sunny days, the desire to lose a few pounds comes back to the forefront. But how far can you really go without putting your health at risk or giving in to unrealistic promises?

As summer approaches, many people want to find a feeling of lightness, feel better about their body or simply adopt better eating habits. But between express diets promising spectacular transformations and the contradictory advice circulating everywhere, it becomes difficult to know what is really healthy and above all realistic.

Laurence Plumey, doctornutritionist recalls a fundamental principle: sustainable weight loss is not measured by speed, but by the stability of results. Clearly, losing weight too quickly can not only be ineffective in the long term, but also unbalance the body. Why crash diets don’t work? Drastic methods often lead to rapid loss, but mainly composed of water and muscle mass. Result: as soon as we return to a normal diet, the pounds come back and sometimes even much more. This is called the yo-yo effect. Conversely, a progressive approach allows you to preserve muscle mass, maintain an active metabolism and above all to establish new lasting habits.

According to this nutritionist, the objective is not to deprive yourself, but to rebalance. This involves a varied diet, rich in vegetables and proteins while trying to replace the sweet dessert with fruit. Without forgetting to practice regular physical activity, at least 3 times a week. “If we do all this, we can hope to lose 1 and a half kilos, or even 2 kilos per month” confides the professional. She also emphasizes the importance of sleep and stress management, two factors that are often underestimated but which directly influence weight gain or loss.

Rather than aiming for a spectacular transformation in a few weeks, this expert encourages you to adopt a more realistic vision. The body needs time to adapt, and each organism reacts differently. But then, concretely, what can we hope for between now and summer without putting our health at risk? By following a balanced approach, without extreme restrictions, it is entirely possible to obtain visible and lasting results. According to this nutritionist, healthy weight loss is within a reasonable range that allows the body to adapt without stress. By July, we can hope to lose at least 4 kilos in a healthy and sustainable way. An accessible goal, without excessive frustration, and above all compatible with a balanced lifestyle, far from the unrealistic promises of miracle diets.

By focusing on regularity rather than speed, it is possible to obtain visible results without rushing the body. A balanced approach remains the key to achieving your goals while preserving your health in the long term.
